Why sleep in Casablanca?

Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city, is a dynamic metropolis that blends tradition and modernity. We were carried away by its unique architecture, which combines Art Deco buildings, ultramodern constructions and traditional Moroccan influences. The economic hub of the country, the city also offers many tourist attractions, including the majestic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in the world. We recommend a stay here to discover the cosmopolitan soul of contemporary Morocco, far from the tourist clichés.

A lively, popular shopping district, the Maârif attracts both locals for its boutiques and cafés, and travelers for its more authentic atmosphere. One of the city’s liveliest districts, it’s here that the heart of modern Casablanca beats, with its lively little streets, markets, Moroccan restaurants and shopping malls. We enjoyed its dynamic atmosphere, its many boutiques and cafés. This is where you’ll find the emblematic Twin Center, 2 twin 28-storey towers that mark the city skyline. Sleeping in Anfa

Casablanca - Anfa

A chic and peaceful residential area, Anfa is Casablanca’s premier upscale neighborhood, known for its luxurious villas and prestigious residences. We enjoyed strolling along its wide, tree-lined boulevards and soaking in the tranquil atmosphere. This peaceful area is also home to the Royal d’Anfa Golf Course and Anfa Park, the city’s green lung. Close to the business district, Anfa elegantly combines a high-end residential setting with easy access to the city’s amenities.

Other useful tips to keep in mind

  • Casablanca is a lively metropolis all year round. An economic and cultural city, it attracts both business travelers and tourists curious to discover its heritage and unique energy. The climate is mild in winter and hot in summer, making the city a pleasure to visit in all seasons. On the other hand, hotel demand can be high, especially in popular areas such as the Corniche and Gauthier. Remember to book your accommodation in advance, especially during the peak tourist season from April to October.
  • Parking can be a problem in some parts of the city, especially during the day or at rush hour. If you’re traveling by car, choose hotels with private parking or valet parking. Visit the city’s website, which lists paying parking lots here.
  • Getting around Casablanca can be time-consuming due to frequent traffic jams. Take this into account when choosing your accommodation in relation to the sites you wish to visit.
parking
  • Note that some hotels in Morocco do not serve alcohol. Find out in advance if this is important to you.
  • To get around, cabs and VTCs are plentiful and convenient for short distances. The streetcar also remains a good option: modern, reliable and inexpensive, it serves the city’s main districts. If you’d like to be more independent, especially when exploring the surrounding areas such as El Jadida, Rabat or the coastal beaches, a rental car could be a good alternative.
  • Casablanca isn’t just a modern city: it’s also a cultural capital bursting with energy! Throughout the year, the city hosts music festivals, contemporary art exhibitions and film events such as the Casablanca Arab Film Festival (see details here). And don’t miss the Jazzablanca Festival in Anfa Park (details here): a week of concerts and festivities that transforms the city. Check out Casablanca’s cultural calendar here, so you don’t miss a thing!
  • Bear in mind that the criteria for awarding hotel stars can vary from country to country. In Casablanca, many of the tourist accommodations in our selection are located in urban and modern buildings.

Hyatt Regency Hotel - Façade

Why stay there?

One of the city’s oldest 5-star establishments is the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Between tradition and prestige in the heart of Casablanca, we appreciated its strategic location just a 5-minute walk from the old medina and traditional markets. Rooms and suites are luxurious, with views of the surrounding Art Deco facades, the old medina or the majestic Hassan II Mosque. For an even more exclusive experience, you can opt for an Executive room with access to the Regency Club. A major asset of this hotel is its wealth of relaxation and dining areas, such as the Café M or the Living Room lounge where you can enjoy a glass of wine. Your stay will also be punctuated by concerts and shows at the Dar Beida Restaurant (which means Casablanca in Arabic). In this emblematic palace, at the crossroads of the city’s historical and contemporary influences, you’ll have nothing to worry about, just relax!
