It&#8217;s a good idea to get to know these neighborhoods so you can plan your day out. <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Most of the sights are within walking distance of <strong>the Medina<\/strong>, the walled historic center, which is almost entirely pedestrianized.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To the south of the medina, you&#8217;ll find the <strong>Mellah<\/strong> and <strong>Kasbah<\/strong> districts, which are also mainly accessible on foot, but have more lanes dedicated to vehicles.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Further north of the medina, the <strong>Gu\u00e9liz<\/strong> modern district is a 15-20min walk or 5min cab ride away, and is home to the Jardin Majorelle, the Yves Saint Laurent Museum and the Mus\u00e9e Pierre Berg\u00e9 des Arts Berb\u00e8res.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>L&#8217;<strong>Hivernage<\/strong>, the hotel and party district between the two, is easily accessible by car from either.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Further afield, the <strong>Palmeraie<\/strong> (10km to the north, 15-20min by cab) is mainly made up of riads and luxury hotels. Estimate how much you can afford in total: this will give you a clear indication of how many days you can envisage. <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The price range of <strong>accommodation<\/strong> in Marrakech varies considerably, from entry-level riads to five-star palaces. It&#8217;s entirely possible to find charming riads at very reasonable prices, even in the heart of the Medina.   <a href=\"https:\/\/maroclovers.com\/en\/where-stay-marrakech-best-hotels-neighborhoods\/\" type=\"post\" id=\"11386\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">See our article on where to stay in Marrakech for prices.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Eating out<\/strong> is also affordable, especially if you eat where the locals eat, such as Place Jemaa El Fna when it transforms into a foodcourt in the evening.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Entrance fees to the main <strong>museums and monuments<\/strong> generally range from 50 to 180 dirhams per person.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In <strong>the souks<\/strong>, on the other hand, the price displayed or advertised is never the real price: negotiation is an integral part of the experience. We recommend that you always start at 50% of the advertised price. You should also be on your guard against common scams: fake guides, exorbitant prices, etc.    <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finally <strong>, cabs<\/strong> rarely activate the meter even if you ask them to.
