The city borders the Atlantic Ocean and backs onto the foothills of the Anti-Atlas, whose arid landscapes contrast with the coastline. This geographical position gives it a dual appeal: extensive beaches on the one hand, and a wild, mountainous hinterland on the other. <\/p>\n\n Here are the main distances from Moroccan cities:<\/p>\n\n Al Massira International Airport is the main air gateway to Agadir. It is located around 25km northeast of the city center, about a 30-minute drive. The airport handles direct flights from several European cities, as well as domestic connections from Casablanca. In the high season (April to October), the range of flights is much wider; in the low season, direct connections are reduced and transit via Casablanca often becomes necessary. <\/p>\n\n Read our tips (coming soon)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n Tip:<\/strong> if you’re traveling out of season (November to March), the route via Casablanca remains the most reliable and often the most competitive in terms of fares.<\/p>\n\n Compare available flights to Agadir.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n The airport is 25km from the city center. There are several ways to get to Agadir, depending on your budget and preferences. <\/p>\n\n For added convenience, you can book a private transfer in advance. A driver will meet you at the terminal exit and take you directly to your accommodation. This option is particularly interesting for families or groups, as the cost is divided between the passengers. What’s more, you can be sure of a fixed fare and avoid unpleasant surprises. See transfers from Agadir airport.<\/a><\/p>\n\n Cabs are waiting outside the arrivals terminal. The fare is regulated, but we advise you to check that the driver starts the meter on departure, or to agree the price before getting in. Additional charges apply at night and on public holidays. Car rental is the most practical way to explore Agadir and the surrounding area on your own. The major international agencies (Hertz, Avis, Sixt) have counters near the arrivals hall, alongside local rental companies who are often more competitive. We advise you to book in advance, especially in July and August, as available vehicles quickly become scarce and rates rise. We also recommend that you take out insurance, just in case. Driving in Morocco presents no major difficulties on the main roads, but does require a certain amount of vigilance, especially in the big cities. Marrakech is a good starting point for Agadir. The two cities are linked by the A7 freeway, a road in good condition that crosses the spectacular landscapes of the High Atlas. The journey takes around 3 hours by car, with no particular difficulties. We enjoyed the drive because of the beauty of the scenery, particularly the gorges and Berber villages clinging to the mountainsides. <\/p>\n\n For those who don’t wish to drive, organized excursions from Marrakech include round-trip transportation and a guide. This is a practical option, especially for a day or weekend stay. The route offers beautiful ocean views and passes through areas planted with argan trees, typical of this part of Morocco. The road is in good condition, but more winding than the freeway, requiring careful driving in places. <\/p>\n\n Day trips from Essaouira to Agadir are also available. See options from Essaouira.<\/a><\/p>\n\n From Casablanca, allow around 5h30 driving time via the A3 and A7 freeways. The journey is long, but entirely by motorway, until you reach Agadir. We advise you to take a break halfway, especially in Marrakech. Long-distance buses like CTM or Supratours also offer direct connections from Casablanca, with regular departures throughout the day. <\/p>\n\n A quick alternative from Casablanca: by plane. Mohammed V International Airport offers regular domestic flights to Agadir’s Al Massira Airport with Royal Air Morocco, with a journey time of around 1 hour. This option is particularly convenient if you’re arriving in Casablanca from abroad and want to get to Agadir without having to take the long way around. Two main companies provide these connections: CTM<\/a><\/strong> and Supratours<\/a><\/strong>. The buses are air-conditioned and have luggage compartments.
